What started out as a tool for my own band’s soundperson has turned into an app that’s used worldwide to hone the skills of musicians, sound engineers, and other audio lovers. Over that time we’ve steadily added more functionality to the app, which culminated in the major “2.0” release just a few weeks ago.
I was super proud of the reception the new hearEQ got. We’d rebuilt it from the ground up to be more intuitive, more stable, more fun to use—and it was a big relief to see that people loved the changes. But there was one missing feature that was still very important to our users: the 30-band EQ. Doing EQ ear training with the 10-band equalizer helped a lot of people, but once they had it mastered, the question became “what next?”
Today we’re very happy to announce hearEQ 2.1: the 30-band edition. We hope you like it as much as we do! In addition to the headlining feature, it also includes a lot of little tweaks and iterative improvements all over the app, and a better Modules experience overall. You can get the update for iPhone and iPad starting today on the App Store:
