Updated hearEQ brings ear training to French and Simplified Chinese

An updated hearEQ (1.5.0) was released early this morning, bringing support for French and Simplified Chinese languages. In addition to the new language support, we’ve also revised hearEQ in response to user feedback: playback will no longer be affected by the mute switch.

If you’re a musician, audio engineer, or sound lover, then it’s likely you’ve done some kind of equalizing (EQing) before—even if you didn’t know it. Ever boosted the bass or treble on your stereo? That’s EQing. Ever twisted that tone knob on your guitar? That’s EQing too. It’s a very powerful skill to be able to EQ well:

    • Record better music by EQing instruments to fit well together—and not sound muddy
    • Make the vocals at your next show pop with the right EQ settings
    • Put out a podcast that sounds good, with clear, easy-to-understand audio
    • Get the most out of your speakers or headphones by EQing your music to sound its best

hearEQ is an ear training app for iPhone and iPad that builds and shapes your EQing skills, teaching you the effect of boosting and cutting different frequencies with custom exercises and a special learning mode. Start easy by learning just a couple frequencies, then build your ear training skills with a full 10-band equalizer. Ready to take a closer look?
